Perfect LA Weekend Spot for Hiking & Family Fun |🐟
So Many Turtles, Ducks, Frogs & Fish! 🐢🦆🐸 Sharing one of my favorite places in LA to take kids: a super charming spot where turtles and ducks gather—it’s pure joy! ❤️ We come almost every weekend to Franklin Canyon Turtle Pond. Don’t let the size fool you—this pond is always full of sunbathing turtles! 🐢☀️ You’ll also spot koi fish 🐟, ducks 🦆, and little frogs 🐸—the vibe is absolutely magical! 💚 The nearby Upper Franklin Canyon Reservoir holds even more surprises! Look closely where the reeds meet the shore—tons of tiny frogs love hiding there 🐸 (you might need sharp eyes to spot them hehe). 🪧 Even though there are signs saying not to feed the wildlife, we always see people quietly sharing snacks with the ducks. Now the ducks and turtles have gotten so smart—they swim right over when people approach, hoping for a treat. They’re basically pros at this point! 🤣 My almost-one-year-old gets crazy excited every time we visit. She points at the turtles and ducks and goes “Ah! Ah! Ah!” 🗣️👶 (She’s not talking yet, but her happy little stomps are the cutest thing ever!). There are also several trails around—most are easy and perfect for a family stroll. Very kid-friendly! 👨👩👧 If you just walk around the reservoir, there’s plenty of shade. Even in summer, it stays cool and comfortable—no worries about getting sunburned! 🌳😎 📍 Parking: Franklin Canyon Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 ⚠️ Tip: If you plan to hike, don’t forget sunscreen! But if you’re sticking around the pond and reservoir, you’re all good~ Have you been here with your little ones? What’s your favorite animal-friendly spot in LA?
