Philadelphia|Garden Restaurant by the Liberty Bell: Talula’s Garden 🍃
After work midweek, I strolled near Washington Square and decided on a whim to try Talula’s Garden — a spot I’ve had bookmarked for a while, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise! The restaurant is close to Independence Hall, yet the atmosphere is peaceful and far from noisy. Walking in, you’re greeted by a lush, green garden — so relaxing and refreshing. The menu focuses on New American cuisine with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We ordered three dishes, and each had its own highlights: 1️⃣ The Master Class Cheese Board – Impressive from the moment it arrived! Six different artisanal cheeses served with nuts, honey, house-made jam, plus a little card introducing each cheese’s flavor profile. Perfect for nibbling and chatting over. (The Deer Creek Cheese was my favorite — incredibly rich truffle flavor!) 2️⃣ Roasted Chicken & Gnocchi – Chicken cooked spatchcock-style — crispy skin, tender meat, paired with soft morel mushroom gnocchi and truffle-infused gravy. So flavorful without being heavy! 3️⃣ Crisp Duck Confit – A true delight! The duck leg had crispy, crackling skin but stayed juicy inside. Served with slightly sweet Carolina rice, vegetables, duck liver pâté, and Creole sauce — French-inspired, layered, and not greasy at all. After the meal, we took a walk around Washington Square. Overall, Talula’s Garden is one of those places where you eat well, sit comfortably, and chat for hours. Perfect for family gatherings, friend meet-ups, or a romantic date. 🍽️ Talula’s Garden 📍 210 W Washington Square, Philadelphia, PA 19106 💰 Around $50+ per person #WeekendFind #Philadelphia #PhillyFood #GardenDining #NewAmerican #DateNightSpot 🥂🌿
