Philadelphia's Kalaya 🇹🇭 Ranked #7 in North America

Plus Ordering Guide 🍽️✨ Big congratulations to Kalaya for earning an impressive #7 spot on the 2025 50 Best in North America list—a huge achievement among fierce Michelin-starred competition! 🏆 Chef Nok Suntaranon also won the 2025 Best Female Chef award—well deserved! 👩🍳🎉 I tried the Chef's Tasting Menu (“Taste of Kalaya”). For one person, it includes three fixed starters, one curry of your choice, one entrée, two sides, and a dessert. The portion is the same as for two people ordering the tasting menu… so yes, I sat alone facing a magnificent feast fit for a group! 😂🍛 🏅 On the Table - Shaw Muang 🥟 Thai violet dumplings with mildly spicy filling—so flavorful and delicious! 🏅 Curry - Gaeng Gai Khao Mun 🍛 Spicy Thai curry chicken with fragrant oily rice—absolutely aromatic and satisfying! 🏅 Entree - Pla Nung Manao 🐟 Steamed sea bass with lime—incredibly tender, firm texture, zero fishy taste. The zesty lime sauce elevates it perfectly. 🏅 Sides - Moo Waan 🐷 Sweet Thai pork bites—not greasy, served with jasmine rice. 🏅 Sides - Hed Pad Kratiam 🍄 Garky stir-fried mushrooms—wok hei is strong! Though slightly under-seasoned and can get rich over time. 🏅 Dessert - Durian Sticky Rice 🍚 A must for durian lovers! Sweet, creamy durian with salty-sweet coconut sticky rice—perfect balance! 👇 Not recommended if you dislike ginger: • Yum Nam Khao Tod (crispy rice sausage salad) has strong ginger flavor + ginger shreds. • Gui Chai (chive cakes) can be a bit too oily as a full portion. Overall, a wonderful experience! Food is remarkable, service warm and attentive, atmosphere great for dates or friend gatherings. Highly recommend! One small downside: parking is tricky—the lot across the street isn’t for diners, so look for street parking. 🍽️ Kalaya 📍 4 W Palmer St, Philadelphia, PA 19125 💰 Tasting menu: $75 per person. À la carte is more budget-friendly for groups. 📱 Reservations: Resy #PhillyFood #Kalaya #ThaiFood #TopRestaurants #VibeDining #FoodieReview #PhiladelphiaEats #MichelinWorthy #TastingMenu #BestThaiInUS #ChefNok #FoodGoals
