Philadelphia / A Suggestion for Global Popularity
🌟 The Kettle Black 🌟 📍 631 N 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19123 🏅 Google Rating: 4.9 I rarely order takeout and generally avoid it. The only takeout I’ve had frequently is McDonald’s and potstickers. In the US, I never order takeout and don’t even have the apps installed. I prefer to walk to the store and buy what I crave. For example, yesterday morning, I suddenly wanted a bagel. I was ready to grab a bag and head to the store. But during the weekend morning rush, I ended up waiting in line and almost missed out on my bagel. 🌟After taking the first bite, I was already thinking about buying two pretzels for a late-night snack. I had to consciously keep my composure while secretly screaming inside, because I couldn’t afford to act like someone who couldn’t tell the difference between Montreal-style and New York-style bagels—a real “country bumpkin.” 🌟The cheddar jalapeño pretzel with its salty, yeasty aroma was irresistible. The combination of cheddar and jalapeño was perfect. I chose the special cream cheese spread, which was like a chunk of cheddar, bacon, and red onion all rolled into one—a snack! It was savory and aromatic, almost like fermented bean curd, with the bacon turning into a cheese crisp. It felt like a meticulously crafted byproduct from a Michelin-starred kitchen, with a touch of pork rind. In short, I knew I was indulging in something high in fat, but the rich texture left me feeling very satisfied. 🎨For the salt bagel, I chose garlic and scallion cream cheese. The interplay of garlic and scallion was so intoxicating, it felt like a deep, Eastern romance. The bagel itself was crispy and slightly sweet, and even with large grains of sea salt, it wasn’t overly salty. 🎨I tried both cheddar and salt pretzels. They were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with a dense and smooth interior that had no visible air pockets. The combination of roasted aroma and savory flavor was delightful. The more I chewed, the more flavorful it became, with a hint of the ocean. #food #LifeInNorthAmerica #FoodieCheckIn #GlobalEatingAndDrinking #USATravel #PhillyEats
