Philadelphia | A Century-Old Shop with an Amazing Cannoli

I passed by this Italian pastry shop and saw the sign "since 1904"—it must be good, right? The glass display case was full of sweets, either dusted with powdered sugar or filled with cream. Friends with a low tolerance for sweets stood far away, but I bravely bought a cannoli. Since it didn't reach the minimum amount for a credit card payment, I added a lemon tart. The clerk asked, "Do you want powdered sugar on your cannoli?" Before I could answer, my friend burst out, "Can you even eat it with sugar on top?" Actually, the cannoli was fine. The crispy shell and soft filling made for a delightful breakfast with coffee. The lemon tart, however, was way too sweet, with an overwhelming artificial sugar taste. No way, I haven't reached the American level of sweet tooth yet. 🌟 Tiramisu This tiramisu has a cake base, not the ladyfinger biscuits I was expecting. The cream itself is not sweet, with a strong coffee flavor. The cake inside is a bit sweet, which pairs perfectly with coffee. 🌟 Mixed Cookies I don’t think you can go wrong with these! They’re all delicious and have their own unique flavors. However, they might be a bit too sweet for Asian palates. You can choose based on your preferences. Personally, I like the ones with sweet and sour jam inside, as they add a nice layer of flavor. 📍 Isgro Pastries 📍 1009 Christian St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, United States #PhiladelphiaFood #WeekendExploration #FoodieDaily #Dessert
