Philadelphia Seafood Bistro | Little Fish
🌟Finally, a place that’s not just about pretty presentation! I’ve really developed a bit of a phobia about Western cuisine. Almost every time I’ve had a meal that looked amazing, I ended up being disappointed. But Little Fish had been on my list for a while, and I hadn’t seen any bad reviews. My parents were in town, and we happened to see that they had a suitable time slot, so we decided to give it a try. 🍞The restaurant is tiny, with room for only 16 guests. The decor is barely cozy, and the seating is a bit cramped. But it’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle), which is a huge plus for us. Since we were a large group, we pretty much ordered everything on the menu (except for the bread and oysters). 🍎The top spot has to go to their most famous dish, the scallop toast! It’s truly the signature dish. The soft and tender scallops are topped with Sichuan peppercorn oil, served on crispy fried bread. It’s a perfect combination of textures, all melting in your mouth. The spicy oil with the sashimi is surprisingly addictive. 🧀️The crab and sea urchin pasta (also didn’t get a photo) was noteworthy. The large chunks of crab meat were clearly freshly shelled, a far cry from the canned, pre-shelled crab meat you get at Costco. The smoked trout roe in the sauce added a savory flavor. The sea urchin mainly added aesthetic and monetary value. Another interesting combination was the steamed black bass. The fish was perfectly cooked, served with a slightly sweet and sour broth, along with soft tofu and Vietnamese rice noodles. The Asian flavors were really highlighted. #RecorderOfARomanticLife #NearPhiladelphia #PhillyLife
