Philly|Must-Try French Restaurant 🌟

First day feeling better and already out hunting for food 😍. Wanted something light, so I picked this French bistro near South Street 🇫🇷. 🍴 The Good King Tavern 📍 614 S 7th St, Philadelphia 💰 ~$30 (excluding drinks) Tucked away yet lively — seemed like mostly neighborhood regulars. Visited on a Tuesday at 8:30 PM and the place was still buzzing with chatter and clinking glasses — love that warm, vibrant vibe ‼️ 🐌 Escargot Butter-baked snails, a French starter must. Their version leans tangy and spicy with lots of lemon and chili powder, blended with butter and cream — pretty tasty. 🦪 Mussels À La Normande Mussels cooked in white wine sauce with caramelized mushrooms and shallots — no sand, no fishiness. So fresh it’ll make your eyebrows rise 😄. 🦆 Duck of the Day – Confit Duck Leg One of the most iconic French home-style dishes. Duck leg cured in oil for two days — no gaminess, just rich, savory flavor and fragrant oiliness. The star of the night 🌟. 📌 Summary: 1️⃣ This is one of those rare Philly spots that nails ambiance, flavor, service, and value. Note: they have a $25 no-show fee, and you must cancel at least a day ahead. 2️⃣ The “Duck of the Day” isn’t always confit — ask your server when ordering. #PhillyEats #FoodExplore #PhillyLife #HiddenGem #FrenchBistro #StudyAbroadPhilly
