Philly | A French Restaurant with Both Looks and Flavor 🇫🇷🍽️

The ambiance isn’t exactly fine dining, but the prices are reasonable, and the dishes are worth every dollar. We’re big eaters, so we ordered three appetizers + three mains—total came to ~$110+ per person. Normally you could do ~$50+ per head (receipt at the end). 📍 Bistrot La Minette 623 S 6th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 🥩 Terrine Foie Gras Lucky timing—they just updated the menu a few days before our visit, and the foie gras terrine was back! Rich, smooth, generous portion—satisfying but not overwhelming. 🥩 Special Foie (Daily Special – Seared Duck Liver) Even luckier—got the daily special seared duck liver. Crispy outside, juicy inside, well-seasoned. Small but excellent. 🥩 Escargot Can’t visit a French spot without snails! Classic preparation, similar to Butcher and Singer’s, but I prefer Minette’s—bigger snails and garlic-herb chunks, more flavorful. 🥩 Canard (Duck Breast) The best duck breast I’ve had in Philly so far! Juicy, tender, perfectly cooked. Served with turnip and kale—both prepared just right. 🥩 Joue de Porc façon Cassoulet Sherry-braised pork cheek—surprisingly good! The salty pork pieces paired well. 🥩 Lapin Rôti à la Moutarde (Roasted Rabbit) The weakest dish. The rabbit leg was dry and bland, and the pasta side was unremarkable. 🍸 Dessert Wine / Sweet Aperitifs Their fruit-infused sweet wines are unique—tried black currant and peach, both lovely. Worth a try! #PhillyFood #FrenchCuisine #PhillyEats #BistrotLaMinette #FoieGrasLove #DateNight
