📍 Butcher and Singer After trying two of NYC’s most famous steakhouses, I was excited to check out Philly’s steak scene. This is a classic, long-standing steakhouse in Philly — even on weekdays it’s packed, so reservations are a must. The ambiance is stunning — high ceilings, two huge crystal chandeliers ✨ 🍞 Complimentary Bread Honestly, the best thing here is the bread — soft, flaky, and not greasy at all. The salt on top balances perfectly with the butter’s sweetness. We always ask for seconds! 🦀 Crab Cake Tried it on my first visit — pretty disappointing for the price. Too much filler, not enough crab. 🥩 18 oz. Delmonico (boneless ribeye) The server’s top recommendation, but just okay — lacked the depth of dry-aged steaks. 🥩 22 oz. Porterhouse (for one) Much better on our second visit! The filet side was super tender and tastier than the strip side. Better than NYC’s Wolfgang’s, but not as good as Peter Luger’s. 🍄 Mushrooms & Onions Highly recommended — mixed mushrooms with great flavor, and the sweet onions add a nice touch. 🥔 Stuffed Hash Browns Shredded potatoes fried super crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside. Salt + carbs = total comfort food 🤤 🍰 Baked Alaska The ice cream was way too sweet, even with the fruit jam. 🍹 Blackberry Cocktail A sweet little drink — pretty small for the price. 💰 Around $75 per person Overall: The bread really outshined everything else. Experience was decent but not exceptional — though it’s still one of Philly’s top steakhouses. #HiddenGem #RestaurantRecs #VibeDining #Steakhouse #PhillyEats #PhillyLife #FoodReview
