Philly · Perfect Spring Date Spot
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve dined at this French restaurant — it’s become my go-to spot when I don’t want to overthink where to eat. I’ve tried their brunch and dinner multiple times — consistently good quality, with a warm, homey yet elegant vibe. They update their menu seasonally, often with little delightful surprises. This time, I tried their spring menu! 🥂 Appetizer 1: Foie Gras Mousse 🌟🌟🌟 Smooth and rich with no greasy aftertaste. Only downside: the dried baguette slices were too hard — almost cut our lips 👄. A softer whole-grain bread would’ve been better. 🥂 Appetizer 2: Escargot à la Provençale 🌟🌟🌟💖 One of the few times I’ve enjoyed snails! No weird taste — tender with a slight chew, paired perfectly with tangy pickled onions that cut through the richness. 🍽️ Large Plate 1: Honey Roasted Rohan Duck 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Creative pairing with blood orange — after the rich duck, a bite of slightly tart orange was refreshing. The duck itself was tender and cooked perfectly. 🍽️ Large Plate 2: Icelandic Cod Bourride 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My favorite of the night! The pickled radish on top was brilliant — the chef’s fermenting skills shine here. Light cream sauce with the cod, lifted by the tangy pickle — so fresh and satisfying. 🍮 Dessert 1: Banana & Almond Pudding 🌟🌟 The lower pudding layer was smooth and nice, but the top banana syrup layer tasted artificial — plastic-like. Pretty to look at, but we both focused on the bottom layer. 🍮 Dessert 2: Caramelized Chocolate Tart 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Much better! Made with dark chocolate, with a crisp crust — balanced bitterness and sweetness, perfect for Asian palates. 🏡 Ambiance + Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 📸 Food Presentation: 🌟🌟🌟💖 💰 Around $60 per person ➕ Mandatory 20% gratuity (highlighted on the bill as extra tip). #PhillyFood #RomanticDining #DateNightPhilly #PhillyEats #SpringDateSpot
