Philly Steakhouse | Butcher & Singer 🥩✨
📍 1500 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19102 💰 ~$120 per person | Steak & Seafood | Romantic Vibe | OpenTable reservations recommended Near the end of fall break, my roommate and I treated ourselves to a nice dinner. Butcher & Singer is an upscale steakhouse in Philly's Rittenhouse area, part of the Starr Restaurants group. Inspired by the 1940s Hollywood Golden Age, it’s elegantly retro—dim lighting, dark wood, leather booths—intimate and polished. 🥩 Porterhouse (for one, 22 oz.) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A classic T-bone—filet on one side, NY strip on the other. Charred and roasted to medium. The strip was juicy and well-marbled; the filet was tender though a bit lean. Huge portion! 🥩 Delmonico 18 oz. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A thick, juicy ribeye—rich, buttery, and incredibly tender. Not overly large but packed with flavor. Probably the most tender cut here. 🥔 Side: Mashed potatoes were just okay. Reddit says the stuffed hash browns are amazing—next time! 🐌 Escargots ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Garlic-herb butter sauce with a hint of white wine/lemon. Not fishy, nicely chewy. Served with crispy baguette—so good for dipping. 🦪 Oysters Rockefeller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Baked with spinach, parsley, herbs, scallions, garlic, and butter. Golden and fragrant, brightened with lemon—creamy, briny, herby perfection. 🍞 Complimentary Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Honestly the best free bread I’ve had at a steakhouse! They’re actually buttermilk biscuits—flaky, soft, rich—served with honey butter.
