PHOnomenal Food Review
Today I want to share a special place—PHOnomenal (811 K Ave, National City, CA 91950). I heard their Cambodian-style Phnom Penh noodles sell out within two hours every day 😲, so I made a trip to try them. The noodles come with two large beef ribs 🥩, which are incredibly tender and fall off the bone easily. The broth is very rich and flavorful; though a bit on the saltier side, it's so satisfying that you’ll want to keep sipping it until it’s all gone 😋. Even with my slow eating pace (as slow as a turtle 🐢), the soup stayed warm until the very last spoonful, which I really appreciated. In San Diego’s humid and warm weather 🌤️, enjoying a hot bowl of noodles reminded me of my time in Vietnam. Somehow, the hotter the weather, the more enjoyable it feels to eat something warm and comforting 💦. A quick FYI: their chili sauce is extremely spicy 🌶️… so please be cautious if you try it! If you enjoy Southeast Asian flavors or want to try something different, this place is worth a visit. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the overall dining experience is pleasant 😌. #PHOnomenal #FoodDiscovery #SanDiegoEats #PhnomPenhNoodles #CambodianFood #BeefRibs #NoodleSoup #FoodDiary
