PINE & CRANE – LA Restaurant Recommendation!
Their Authentic Braised Pork Rice is Amazing! 🍛✨ Lately I was craving braised pork rice, so I searched around and found Pine & Crane near USC. The dishes looked great online, so I decided to try it out – turns out it’s right under the Aven apartment building, and the restaurant was full of business elites haha. 😄 The ambiance is really nice too, with both indoor and outdoor seating! 🪑🌿 Braised Pork Rice (Lu Rou Fan): Lives up to its reputation! Their version is a bit oily, but it has a high lean meat ratio – perfect for someone like me who doesn’t like fatty cuts! The pickled daikon on the side really cuts through the richness. 👌 Beef Wrap: Sweet and savory – I personally loved it, but my friend thought the sweetness was a bit odd. So it depends on your taste! 😅 The beef and cucumber filling was generous – tasted more like a Peking sauce beef wrap haha. 🌯 Leek Pancake (Jiucai Hezi): Not recommended! As a Beijinger, I probably shouldn’t have ordered leek pancakes at a Taiwanese spot. 😬 No fragrance, the dough wasn’t authentic, and it came with sweet chili sauce for dipping? Not it. Mochi: Half black sesame, half soy milk flavor – the soy milk side was salty, the black sesame side sweet – a really tasty combo! But it gets rich after two pieces. 🍡 Have you been to Pine & Crane?
