Portland, ME β 3 Days of Food & Fun π¦π©π
Portland feels like a cozier, slower-paced version of Boston ποΈ. It might seem remote and rustic, but itβs just as charming (and just as white as Seattle π ). With its New England history and a touch of that classic βpatronizing decency,β itβs balanced by a laid-back vibe and friendly, uncompetitive locals. Must-Doβs & Must-Sees π Mt. Washington βββββ At 6,288 ft, the views are stunning! π Below mid-mountain: lush forests (perfect in October!). Above: rocky terrain, grand peaks, and dramatic New England clouds βοΈ. You can drive up or hike! Portland Lighthouses ββββ Only Portland Head Light is worth it β the other two are basically wetland-park level π. Plus, the Bite Into Maine food truck here is AMAZING! βββββ Their lobster roll isnβt drowned in sauce β you actually taste the fresh lobster! π¦ Food Highlights π½οΈ Duckfat ββββ Duckfat fries: basic, but the black truffle ketchup (even if itβs probably truffle flavoring + ketchup) is delicious π. Duckfat Caesar salad: smoked duck was underwhelming π¬β¦ but the salad itself with egg yolk, vinegar, Caesar dressing, and breadcrumbs? 5β! Maine Blueberries βββββ A local specialty β eat all you can! π« Try the blueberry sparkling water (local exclusive at Hannaford supermarket). Avoid the βhoneyβ one β twice the price and weirdly bad π. Gorgeous Gelato βββββ Especially the Mokaccino β coffee base with chocolate chips + a hint of liquor = perfect balance! βπ« ISF Trading βββββ $28 for fresh, delicious uni (sea urchin)! Stick to just the uni though. Skip These β Holy Donut π Tastes like gas station glaze-on-breadβ¦ way too sweet and basic. Standard Baking Co π Just a very average, not-that-tasty bakery. Not terrible, but not worth the hype. Tandem Coffee and Bakery π Blueberry pie had underbaked phyllo dough π Pecan almond pie used coconut instead of butter β oily, not crispy or flavorful. Cookies were underbaked, too oily, and crazy sweet. #Maine #VisitMaine #PortlandMaine #TravelGuide #Foodie
