Portland’s Salty’s Seafood Buffet 🦞
📍 3839 NE Marine Dr, Portland, OR 97211 I’ve been waiting so long—after the Covid period, Salty’s finally brought back their Sunday seafood buffet! And let me tell you, walking in and seeing the spread was such a treat—they didn’t skimp on the good stuff, which made the wait totally worth it 😊. The star seafood lineup includes fresh oysters, Dungeness crab (yes, actual Dungeness crab—such a nice surprise! 🦀), and plump little shrimp. Beyond the seafood, they’ve got all the classic American brunch dishes you could crave—think fluffy pancakes, savory quiches, and crispy hash browns—everything’s prepared with that homey, satisfying vibe. While the $90 per person price tag is definitely on the higher side (I joked that we could’ve splurged on Fogo or Happy Lamb hot pot instead 😂), the quality doesn’t disappoint. Every bite of seafood tastes super fresh—no fishy aftertaste at all—and the flavors are bright and clean, letting the natural goodness of the ocean shine through ✨. My absolute favorites? The raw oysters—they’re icy cold, briny, and so smooth, perfect with a squeeze of lemon 🦪. The stir-fried clams are also a hit: tender, packed with garlicky sauce, and totally addictive. Even the desserts hold their own—creamy cheesecake, fruity tarts, and rich chocolate mousse, all light enough to enjoy after a hearty seafood feast 🍰. And let’s not forget the view! The restaurant has such a lovely setting—you can glance out at the water while eating, which adds a nice, relaxing touch to the meal 📸. My friend (we call him Brother Monkey 🐒) went all in on the Dungeness crab, determined to “eat his money’s worth”—and honestly, those big, meaty crab legs made it feel halfway there! Overall, while it’s a bit pricey for what you get, the fresh seafood, tasty dishes, and nice ambiance make it a fun occasional treat. I might not rush back anytime soon, but it was a great way to spend a Sunday brunch. P.S.
