When it came to Russian cuisine, I used to only think of beets and dumplings🥟. But my perspective completely changed after visiting Kachka in Portland! The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, and almost everyone who walks in can’t resist having a few drinks, leaving happily with a pleasant buzz🍻. I was no exception—I ordered a few specialty drinks during happy hour and had an absolutely satisfying experience😊. As a self-proclaimed meat and carb lover, the dishes here felt like they were made just for me🤤! The classic Russian dumplings were generously stuffed and perfectly paired with sour cream, while the borscht was rich and comforting🍲. The various grilled meats and pickled vegetables added layers of flavor, making it impossible to stop after just one bite. Although I enjoyed myself, I had to remind myself to stay cautious—the drinks here are so easy to overindulge in! Russians truly live up to their reputation when it comes to alcohol tolerance, and after a few glasses of vodka, I felt completely relaxed🍾.
