Portland's Berlu Vietnamese Bakery, I Really Like It!
In Portland, there's a Vietnamese coffee and snack shop called 【Berlu Vietnamese Bakery】🏝️, and it's right next to my favorite Thai restaurant, Hat Yai. Every time I go there, I order some snacks, have a coffee, and conveniently grab some takeaway from Hat Yai—it’s just so handy! 🥳 My partner Lao Yang and I both really enjoy Southeast Asian flavors, so we have a special preference for these kinds of snacks and coffee. The pastries at this shop are mostly chewy in texture, with a salty-sweet taste, much like the "golden cake" we had when we were kids🍰. However, some of the pastries have a slightly distinct smell when you sniff them, haha, probably because they’re made with seasonings like fish sauce🧂, but that doesn’t diminish our love for them at all. Lao Yang and I have been here many times, and we’re always happy with our visits💚. If you like Southeast Asian flavors—such as the fragrance of pandan leaves, the richness of coconut milk, the sweetness of mango, or the combination of salty and sweet—then you’ll probably really enjoy this place. Just like me and Lao Yang, we always leave satisfied💚. That said, the shop does have one minor drawback: the pastries are displayed openly, so the edges of some snacks can get a little dry. But overall, this small issue doesn’t take away from their deliciousness, and I still highly recommend giving it a try👍. So far, I’ve only tried their desserts and snacks, but next time I’m definitely going to sample their Vietnamese savory dishes, like Vietnamese pho🍜✌️. Looking forward to my next visit! #LifeInNorthAmerica #Portland #PDX #PortlandFoodie #PortlandEats #PDXLife #VietnameseFood #VietnameseCoffee #CoffeeShopHopping
