Portland's Hong Kong Congee & Noodle House 🍜

Kenny’s Noodle House is a total must-recommend! 🥢 Having worked and lived in Hong Kong for over two years, I think it’s super authentic. 🇭🇰 The surrounding area, at first glance, feels just like Monterey Park in LA—full of local eateries. 🏙️ Walking in, most diners are older and speak Cantonese. 🗣️ There’s one table in particular: the guests have a dragon tattoo on the left arm and a tiger on the right, with paint stains all over their clothes—they look like local decorators. 🎨 Right then, I knew: perfect, I came to the right spot! ✅ And sure enough, the decorators didn’t let me down! 🥣 The Ting Zai Congee (Hong Kong-style savory congee) is fresh, smooth, and loaded with ingredients. 🦐 The beef brisket noodles made me instantly think of the street food stalls in Mong Kok. 🥩 A $3 youtiao (fried dough stick) comes with a huge portion, and the beef tripe, pork liver, and pork kidneys are also incredibly tender. 🥢 If I have to find a flaw, it’s that the alkaline noodles have a slightly strong taste—even someone like me, who loves alkaline noodles, thinks the alkaline flavor hits my nose hard. 👃 The landlady has really good service, and her hand gestures when taking orders are so classic old Hong Kong-style. 🙌 Every little detail here feels like a warm throwback to HK! 🥰 I almost forgot to mention—their portion sizes are totally worth the price! 💰 No wonder it’s a go-to for locals, not just tourists. 🧑🍳 The congee’s warmth even soothes a tired day perfectly. ❤️ It’s definitely a hidden gem in Portland! 💎 #PortlandFood #Portland #PortlandTravel #PortlandFoodHunt #PortlandArea 🌟
