Portland | Iraqi Grilled Fish 😊!
When the grilled fish was served, I was truly amazed by its size! The skin was golden and crispy, making a satisfying "crunch" with each bite, while the flesh inside remained tender, juicy, and incredibly fresh 🐟. The only minor hiccup was that I’m not used to eating fish with Western-style forks—next time, I’ll definitely remember to bring my own chopsticks for easier handling! The falafel was also quite unique. Instead of the usual round shape, it was flattened and then fried, making it crispier throughout. The exterior was wonderfully crunchy while the inside stayed soft. I’d say it’s among the top three most delicious falafels I’ve ever had 👍! The beef dish appeared simple but was packed with flavor. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what made it special, but the skewered beef was tender and well-seasoned. Every bite was deeply satisfying—the kind of dish that’s straightforward yet incredibly tasty 🥩. For drinks, I tried the Iraqi beer. As a malt enthusiast, it was an absolute delight! In Portland, where IPAs dominate the beer scene, this smooth and rich brew felt like a refreshing sip of "pure moonlight" 🍺. My friend ordered mango juice infused with a hint of rosewater—nothing extraordinary, but still refreshing and pleasant. The restaurant’s decor had a distinct exotic charm. A TV screen on the wall played clips showcasing Iraqi culture and landscapes, adding to the immersive atmosphere 📺. The owner was very warm and welcoming, taking the initiative to introduce the dishes while maintaining a comfortable sense of boundaries, making us feel right at home 💖. #FoodDiary #MiddleEasternCuisine #RestaurantReview #PortlandEats
