Today I finally got to buy the canelés I've been dreaming of for so long! ✨ Standing in front of the counter, I spotted these little cuties right away—their caramel-colored shells shimmering under the lights, just looking at them made my heart flutter 💗 I couldn't wait to try one—and it definitely lived up to expectations! With a gentle bite, the first thing I noticed was a crisp "crack" sound; the shell was especially crunchy, somewhat like caramel in texture, but not hard at all. Inside, however, was a completely different experience—the moist, soft center melted in my mouth, perfectly balancing the crispness of the shell. 🤤 The most delightful surprise was its layers of flavor. As I savored it slowly, I could taste a subtle rum aroma—not too strong, just enough to enhance the flavor. I could even see the tiny black specks of real vanilla bean, a testament to its quality, with a natural and gentle fragrance. Every bite was pure joy~ 👏 However, a little heads-up for my vegan friends: this bakery doesn't offer vegan options, which is indeed a bit of a pity :( If you follow a strict vegan diet, you might have to miss out on this delicacy. All in all, this canelé experience was truly wonderful! From the anticipation to the actual tasting, every step was satisfying. If you have a sweet tooth too, you really ought to come and give it a try. 🍮 #PortlandFoodie #DessertLover #KensArtisanBakery #FoodDiary
