Portland | Summer Is a Verb š
I saw a photo of Mount Hood, then flew six hours to Portlandāand you must visit Oregon in summer š¼. Over two days in the mountains, I first visited several waterfalls: Latourell Falls: Climb a few steps, and youāll see it šŖ. Bridal Veil Falls: A 15-minute walk gets you there, and itās absolutely beautifulāworth the trip š§. Wahkeena Falls: Go up the steps, turn right, and you can walk right below the waterfall š£. Multnomah Falls: This oneās the most stunningādonāt miss it š¤©! Some say parkingās hard, but you can walk over from Wahkeena. Alternatively, just line up for the parking lot; itās busy but moves fast. You can also park across the highway and use the underpass to get here. And for fellow ice cream loversāthis cone was delicious too š¦! All these trails are easy on energy. Even with a few pounds of camera gear on my back and Birkenstocks on my feet, I finished them happily š. Another great photo spot is Rowena Crest Viewpointāa guy online recommended it. Drive along the river, then up the mountain, and youāll get shots of the winding road (you have to climb down a bit, which isnāt great for those afraid of heights šø). I sat here watching the river traffic, sailboats, and sunset š . The reserve across the way also has lots of beautiful wildflowers, and I even saw people taking wedding and graduation photos hereāsuch a nice spot š„°! On the second day, I went to Trillium Lake. If Iād come with friends, I definitely wouldāve gone boating or SUPing š¶. But since I was alone, I only brought my paintbrushes. I sat by the lake and painted for two hoursāsuch a lovely, therapeutic activity šØ. There are a few places I wanted to visit but didnāt (I stayed at Timberland Lodge, but thereās not much good food nearby, so I headed back to the city early for a meal š ): Lost Lake Umbrella Falls One place thatās not really worth visiting is Vista House at Crown Point. Without a drone, itās hard to get good photosāitās just an observation deck š. #PortlandTravel #Portland #OregonSummer š
