Portland | Summer is a Verb ✨
After a 6-hour flight to Portland, I finally made it to Oregon in the summer—the best time to visit! 🌞 Spent two days in the mountains chasing waterfalls: 💧 Latourell Falls – Just a short climb up some stairs. 💧 Bridal Veil Falls – A 15-min walk, absolutely stunning. Worth it! 💧 Wahkeena Falls – Go up the stairs and turn right to get behind the falls. 💧 Multnomah Falls – The most breathtaking one! A must-see. 🏞️ Parking tip: Some say it’s hard to find parking, but the line moves fast. Or park across the highway and walk through the underpass. 🍦 Also, the soft-serve ice cream here is chef’s kiss! All these trails are super beginner-friendly—I hiked them in Birkenstocks with a heavy camera bag, no problem. 😆 Another amazing spot: Rowena Crest Viewpoint (shoutout to a fellow Redditor for the tip!). Drive along the river and up the hill to capture that iconic loop road. Fair warning: You’ll need to climb down a bit—kinda scary if you’re afraid of heights! 🚗💨 Sat there watching boats, cars, and the sunset… pure magic. The nearby wildflower fields are perfect for photos—saw people shooting weddings and grad pics! 📸💐 Day 2: Trillium Lake If I’d come with friends, I’d have rented a kayak or SUP. But since I was solo, I brought my sketchbook and painted by the lake for hours. So peaceful! 🎨💙 Places I missed (next time!): ❌ Lost Lake ❌ Umbrella Falls (Stayed at Timberline Lodge, but the food options nearby were meh—ended up heading back to the city early for dinner. 😅) Skip this one: 🚫 Vista House at Crown Point – Unless you have a drone, the view isn’t that special. Just an observation deck. #PortlandTravel #Portland #OregonAdventures 🌲📷
