Portland | Tasty Taishan Rice Noodle Rolls

Today I found an amazing breakfast spot on the streets of Portland 🥢, and I just have to share it with everyone! The owners are from Taishan, and their cozy little shop is tucked away on a quiet street. If a friend hadn't recommended it, I might never have discovered this place. As soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted by the rich aroma of rice, instantly reminding me of the rice noodle rolls I had during my trip to Taishan. I couldn’t resist ordering a serving of shrimp rice noodle rolls, and when they arrived, they were steaming hot 🌟. With the first bite, the silky rice noodles wrapped around fresh shrimp, complemented by a perfectly balanced sauce, tasted exactly like what I remembered from Taishan! As someone from Northern China, I initially thought rice noodle rolls might not suit my palate, but I fell in love after just one taste 💖. The owner told me they grind fresh rice batter daily using traditional methods from their hometown. Watching the owner busy by the steamer felt so warm and familiar. The shop was also filled with regular customers, all drawn in by this authentic flavor. After breakfast, I grabbed a cup of soy milk to go 🥤. It was rich, smooth, and not too sweet—perfect for balancing the meal. Holding the warm cup of soy milk on my way home, I felt completely comforted and content ☀️. Now, whenever I return to Portland, I know exactly where to go for breakfast! This little shop gave me a taste of home; even though I’m thousands of miles away, I found a familiar comfort through its food.
