📍Portland - A pretty hard-to-book Thai omakase?

It's combined with Phuket Cafe. I tried Phuket first, and it was pretty good (it's à la carte), which made me want to try Langbaan. I’ve had it bookmarked for a while, and it used to be quite hard to get a reservation. This time, I actually got a spot just one day in advance? (Even though it was a Wednesday 🗓️) I thought it wouldn’t be too crowded, but it was fully packed! The outside was full too! When making a reservation, you can choose between a table or the bar. Of course, sitting at a table is more comfortable 🪑. I only saw two time slots: 5:00 PM and 7:45 PM. When booking, they ask for your card details, but they only charge after the meal. Their set menu includes ten courses plus two desserts 🍽️. Drinks are extra, and you can also add additional dishes. It’s like a Japanese omakase, with each course served one by one. The servers explain each dish in detail 🗣️. They start by giving you a hot towel to wipe your hands, and then the meal begins. Added Thai tea 🍹 - pretty good! Added oysters 🦪 - sweet! fresh! The first to third courses are all bite-sized. These were quite nice—some sweet, some savory, and some crispy. I liked the first three courses the most 😋. Then, three more courses were served in the middle. The last four courses were served together, including rice—family style 🍚. Finally, dessert 🍰. The first dessert, macarons, was delicious! The last one was a dark-colored cake, which was also good, but I’m not a fan of blackberry 🫐, so I didn’t finish it. ❗️Dining time is limited to two hours ⏳. ❗️There are lots of servers 👨🍳👩🍳—all very polite! ❗️Street parking available 🅿️. Price per person: 💲135 (before tips, drinks, and add-ons) 📍Langbaan 1818 NW 23rd Pl, Portland, OR 97210 #Portland #Oregon #PortlandCheckIn #PortlandExploration #Oregon #PortlandFood #OregonFood #PortlandCuisine #PortlandRestaurants
