Portland 2-Day Ultimate Guide!

I spent a weekend in Portland with no strict plans—just wanting to unwind in a new city. But I was pleasantly surprised by how great the food and shopping are here! 🌟 Food & Coffee Recommendations Bellpine 🍽️: By far the best restaurant of the trip! Even better than the fine dining I’ve had in Seattle. The service was attentive and warm ❤️. (Note: The $120/person chef’s menu isn’t available on weekends, but the waitress said you can ask the chef to create a custom one!) LeChon 🥘: This popular South American spot is hard to book—I only got an 8 PM slot even when reserving 5 days in advance. My favorites were the bone marrow, pan-seared scallops, and foraged mushroom dish. Proud Mary Cafe 🥞: Do NOT miss the Hot Cakes and potato hash—absolute must-tries! TANAKA 🥪: I ordered the chicken cutlet and fish sandwiches, both delicious. Khao Moo Dang: A hot bowl of noodle soup hits the spot in winter! The char siu (barbecue pork) and roasted meat that come with it are generous and tasty. Twisted Croissant: Promise me you’ll buy the Raspberry Cruffin—it’s amazing! Less and more ☕️: Their Tiramisu Latte is so good. Stumpton Coffee ☕️: I got a simple latte, and it was perfect for coffee lovers. 🏨 Accommodation We stayed at Hyatt Centric Downtown. It’s within walking distance of most restaurants/coffee shops we wanted to visit, plus Powell‘s Books, Pioneer Place, Kinokuniya, and several popular boutiques. Bonus: TANAKA 🥪 is right downstairs! 😆 🅿️ Parking Tips While there are many parking buildings near the hotel, Google Reviews mention frequent car break-ins. We opted for the hotel’s valet service ($55/night) instead. It’s pricier, but it felt like “insurance” for our car.Picking up and dropping off the car is super easy—you’ll get a text with a link after parking. Just click “Request your car” 10–15 minutes before you plan to leave, and it’ll be ready when you are! 🌲 Attractions Since we were focused on relaxing, we only visited Multnomah Falls and Vista House. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible—we got soaked in the rain, and Vista House was shrouded in thick fog, so we couldn’t see a thing! 🤣 But the waterfall was still beautiful—definitely worth a visit. 🛍️ Shopping Picks I could go on, but if I had to recommend just two spots: Kinokuniya and Powell’s Books! 😆 (A teacher + anime fan’s top choices.) I’ve attached a list of more restaurants below—I’ll definitely be back to Portland! #PortlandFood #PortlandGuide #Portland 🌟
