Portland Eats 🥘
During the Independence Day holiday, we drove from Seattle to Portland for a trip. We finally got to visit Chin's Kitchen, a Northeast Chinese restaurant recommended by a friend—its food was better than all Northeast Chinese spots in Seattle! 🤤 📍 Chin’s Kitchen: 4126 NE Broadway, Portland. It’s northeast of Seattle, with free street parking 🅿️, and Trader Joe’s is right next door 🛒. Recommended Dishes: 🍲 Clay Pot Sauerkraut, Pork & Vermicelli: The sauerkraut had mild sourness. It used streaky pork, and the soup was rich—perfect with rice 🍚! 🥘 Guobaorou: Not on the menu; ask the waiter directly. It’s not available daily, but we were lucky to try it ✨. It had great wok hei and wasn’t overly sweet—super tasty! 🥗 Northeast Cold Vermicelli Salad: A classic Northeast home-style cold dish. The vermicelli was chewy, with shredded cucumber 🥒 and carrot 🥕. The sauce was delicious, but it lacked sesame paste (unlike my family’s version 😕). 🥟 Handmade Dumplings: Highly recommended by our friend, but we were too full to order. There are many fillings—chive & egg, sauerkraut & pork are popular 🌟. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience 😋. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Portland—highly recommend! 🫰 #PortlandTravel #PortlandRestaurantHopping #PortlandFood #NortheastChineseFood #Guobaorou #RestaurantHopping
