📍Portland MiChi Japan Restaurant Review!

I’ve had this place bookmarked for a while now. It’s been around for some time, but it’s located in Beaverton, which I don’t visit often. So, when I finally had the chance, I knew I had to check it out, especially since I’m a huge sushi fan! 🍣 On a Monday evening, we walked in around 8 p.m. The place was a bit dimly lit, but it was surprisingly crowded, considering it closes at 9 p.m. and it was a weekday. The clientele was mostly non-Asian, while the chef, who seemed to be the owner, was of Asian descent. 🌟 We ordered the following: Appetizers: - Popcorn Chicken: Surprisingly decent! 🍗 - Calamari: Also pretty good. 🦑 - Tako Wasabi (Octopus with Wasabi): Not bad, though I didn’t have high expectations given the small portion. 🦑 Main Courses: - Tonkotsu Ramen: Quite average and a bit pricey for what it was. 🍜 - Michi Premium Omakase (mini): Came with miso soup and a small ice cream. The nigiri was hit or miss; out of four pieces, only one and a half were really good. 🍣 - Toro Uni Ikura Don: A slight recommendation. The combination of sea urchin, tuna, and nori was pretty fresh and tasty. 🍣 - Fall in Love Roll: This is supposedly their signature dish, judging by the photos online. It featured sea urchin and tuna, but the flavor was pretty ordinary. 🍣 - Bluefin Tuna Otoro Roll: Decent, but nothing spectacular. 🍣 A la Carte: - Chutoro: Just okay. 🍣 - Otoro: Nothing to write home about. 🍣 - Sake (Salmon): Mediocre. 🍣 - King Salmon: Also pretty average. 🍣 ✨ The service was decent overall. The waitstaff seemed a bit unfamiliar with the menu, which made them come across as a bit clueless. 🤔 ✨ The appetizers arrived pretty quickly, in about 10 minutes. However, it took around 30 minutes for the full meal to be served. ⏳ 🅿️ Parking was available in the small plaza where the restaurant is located, which was convenient. 🚗 ❗️ The prices were on the higher side, which I guess is to be expected given the location in Beaverton. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the price point. It was pretty ordinary overall. 😐 ❗️ In this area, I’d probably stick to places like Yuubi or NOA Sushi for better value and quality. 🍣 Average cost per person: 💲30-80 📍 MiChi Japan 12282 SW Scholls Ferry Rd, Tigard, OR 97223 #PortlandRestaurant #Portland #OregonFood #RestaurantReview #Oregon #PortlandFoodie #PortlandEats #FoodieDiary #RestaurantHopping #Eateries #OregonLife #PortlandLife
