Kind of shocked this place is rated so highly, as it is overly expensive with poor proportions per price and lackluster taste quality. I'm kind of a sushi nut so I like to test places with the basic stuff first, all of which is around $10 here. For that price, you'll get these super tiny little rolls. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but when it tastes just as good (or as bad, I suppose) as grocery store sushi that gives you twice as much for $8.50, that's a problem. Or, you could go to throwaway places that hire apathetic teens and go for quantity over quality, because the amount I paid for sushi here would have gotten me nearly three times as much for a much better taste. Like, two phil rolls here will cost you $20, but get you as much as around $6 bucks of it at a conveyer belt and taste just as bad.
I figured it might have just been an off day for the chef or something, but nope, same thing second day. Tried to give them one last chance for lunch and ordered chicken teriyaki. Imagine my dismay when they brought me teriyaki sauce soup with tons of onions and other greens and like a handful of chicken slivers. Since everything was absolutely drowning in thick overseasoned sauce, it was pretty disgusting. Maybe it's a way of making it I'm not aware of, but teriyaki is one of my favorite things to order and never in my life have I ever seen someone bring me a teriyaki sauce soup with stuff drowning in it.
Well, maybe it at least tasted decent... yeah, I couldn't really taste the chicken so who knows. The sauce was overwhelming to say the list.
Frankly baffled as I struggle to imagine I got the short straw three times in a row, but there are some great places for low-end Japanese/Korean food and sushi around here that are infinitely cheaper and better tasting, and a handful of more distant offerings when you're serious and ready to throw down a hundred on quality sushi.
I literally cannot imagine a reason to ever eat at this place again or why it is rated so highly, but I'm going to cut my losses and...
Read moreThis is hands down the best sushi I've ever had in Oregon. I had a favorite spot in California that had incredibly exceptional sushi, I was spoiled for many years, and I've been searching for the same caliber out here for a couple years. This is finally the place!! The salmon and yellowtail melt in your mouth. The flavors of every roll we tried were so well balanced. Rice was perfect. Sauces were perfect, the fish was incredible. We tried the Yellowtail Carpaccio (absolutely mouth watering perfection) MiChi, Yum Yum, Wasabi, Lemon Tree and Alaskan roll, as well as a couple other dishes. Every. Single. Thing. Was absolute perfection. The Wasabi roll was SO unique, refreshing and the perfect amount of heat, it was also STUNNING, I've never loved a new roll so much! Lemon tree was incredibly refreshing, great to share after a meal as the Lemon really resets and refreshes your pallet. MiChi was a flavor bomb, beautifully constructed, layers of flavor, perfectly fried and crispy, and a perfect amount of sauce that didnt overpower the flavors of the roll. I am BLOWN AWAY. This place is truly exceptional, I feel blessed to have found it! Also staff was so friendly and accommodating, quick, friendly service! Atmosphere is super chill, very clean and beautifully decorated. The wood work of the booths is stunning! What a gem! I am genuinely obsessed lol sorry guys youll be seeing us A LOT OH and they have a rewards...
Read moreI am a door dasher and these are my thoughts. Atmosphere was cramped but cool, too bright, and the presentation wasn't bad. Seemed a bit over priced but not to excessive. However staff was really avoidant of door dashers and dismissive. Orders also take way longer than estimated making it a huge waste of time. I got their 5 minutes early and another man had been waiting for an order as well. They asked me who I needed then proceeded to ignore me past then. I tried asking about the orders status a few times to same amd different staff and everyone just said "I don't know, just a bit longer." After 15 minutes I decided to just leave.
Etiquette your staff should concider. Door dashers aren't customers, we're working same as you do please just be upfront. I saw it was busy if you communicated and told me if something happened like something had to be remade I would have been reasonable and waited. Dashers are losing money waiting for you. If your restaurant is that busy that you're cooking staff can't keep up with online orders maybe don't offer it. It would be kinder on your staff, dashers, and online shoppers to be satisfied with your abundant in person foot traffic. At least adjust online order hours to not allow deliver at that time if you just need it for...
