Pretending to See the Sea at Eisenhower State Park Near Dallas
This state park is incredibly popular. I've already been turned away twice because I didn't make a reservation. It's about 1-1.5 hours north of Dallas. Eisenhower State Park π50 Park Rd 20, Denison, TX 75020 π If you don't have a state park pass, make sure to book in advance on the official website. For regular weekends, it's recommended to book at least 2 days in advance. For holiday weekends, like Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, book 1 week ahead. The earlier, the better! π Even if you have a state park pass, you still need to make a reservation, but you won't have to pay online. The park's main attraction, besides the forest, is a large "sea." It's actually a lake~ π But it's so big, with cliffs, beaches, and everything, that for people from inland Dallas, it feels like the sea! The trails in the park are all quite short, less than 1 mile. There's only one trail suitable for biking, which is 3.2 miles long, but you can always turn back halfway if needed. So, overall, it doesn't require much physical effort. You can play in the water at the beach and climb up the rocks. We climbed from the bottom up to the camping area by stepping on the rocks. There's also a kids zone with swings, which is super fun! πππ #DifferentKindOfSea #DallasLife #WeekendOuting #TexasParks
