Probably the Best Conveyor Sushi in LA 🤩 But Not the Best Value 🫣
Waka Sakura Gardena 📍 1740 Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA 90248 🈺 Monday–Sunday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM 🌟 I always check reviews carefully before trying a new spot—don’t wanna fall for overhyped places! 🌟 After scrolling through tons of posts, the general consensus was: “Worth a try, but be prepared to wait 1–2 hours.” 🌟 This place is inside the largest Tokyo Central in LA. The second floor usually sells lifestyle goods and groceries, but it was closed for a long time after the pandemic. 🌟 Following tips from foodies, I went right after picking up the kids from school 🚗. We arrived around 4:30 PM, got seated immediately 🪑, and started eating. No wait! But by 5:30 PM, there was already a crowd forming at the door. 🌟 The staff are Japanese, very polite 🎎. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Not all seats are open—probably why the wait gets long. The kitchen is also run by Japanese chefs, not the usual setup. 🌟 Recommended to start with a combo—you can sample different flavors! 🌟 Although it’s conveyor sushi, the belt isn’t running right now. Orders are made fresh via iPad. Free ice water 🆓, but you have to order it through the iPad too. 🌟 The fish is fresher and tastier than at Kura Sushi Bar 🐟 (I used to love the Little Tokyo location, but post-pandemic quality dropped, and prices went up… so I stopped going). 🌟 Salmon, tuna, sea urchin, scallop, and flounder fin were all delicious and fresh. 🌟 The sushi rice has a bit too much vinegar—it sometimes overpowers the natural sweetness of the fish. 🌟 Even though we’re not big eaters (two adults, two kids), we still spent $40+ per person. Not the best value 😬… For that price, you have many other options. Might as well go to Ootoro for better quality and satisfaction. 🌟 Final thoughts: It’s worth a try. The fish is fresh, and individual prices seem low, but the bill adds up 📄. I wasn’t blown away enough to definitely return (especially since the kids prefer saucy rolls—they said they like Sakana Sushi in Las Vegas better, all-you-can-eat lunch for just $25.95). If you have to wait long, it’s probably not worth it. Best to go on a weekday, outside peak hours. #DailyLife #LALife #LifeRecording #GroceryHaul #FoodReview #FoodReport #FoodGuide #LAEats #FoodDiary #ParentingLife #KidsDayOut #WeekendIdeas #SupermarketRuns #JapaneseMarket #Sushi #ConveyorSushi #Share #Recommendation #USA
