Rauma Old Town in Finland - A UNESCO World Heritage Site ๐
๐Rauma was recommended by a colleague, who said it's as beautiful as Porvoo. We arrived just in time for the last day of the Rauma Lace Week. In the market square, we saw children around eight or nine years old playing the flute, with a food street opposite the river, and a concert in the evening. According to the museum staff, the most famous thing about Rauma is its lace making, which has a history of over a hundred years. ๐At the museum, we saw a specially hired lace artisan creating lace on the spot, with a black lace umbrella placed nearby. She told us that there is also a Black Lace Night event, and she attended with this umbrella. ๐Rauma is not a large city and is very peaceful. Two hours are enough for a visit, especially since there isn't much to see outside of the old town area. It's recommended to use the Finnish Museum Card, which allowed us to visit several museums. Without visiting museums, you could probably finish exploring the old town in just 15 minutes. #UNESCOWorldHeritage #Finland #Nordic #CulturalAttractions
