Great area for shopping, with small boutiques and cafes along the two main streets, Kauppakatu and Kuninkaankatu. The area consists of historical, wooden buildings, that locals still live in. The small yards are open for public during summertime, and pop-up style second hand shops can be easily found. Best time to check out this Unesco heritage site is maybe July with the popular Lace Week (a lot more than just lace, trust me), but the place also comes alive...

Very cute historical neighborhood. Little bit of construction going on slightly annoying but ppl are very nice. Driving is somewhat confusing with all of the one way roads but not terrible. Watch for the humans that walk out into the road as you're driving and they aren't paying attention. Just wavering from walking path to the street like idiots not realizing you're even there waiting for them to move back to the walking path. Much to see but...
