Recent Matcha Drinks Review in Boston 🍡

Lucy and Jane Matcha 🌟🌟🌟🌟 A new small container shop in Seaport. You can choose your matcha base – the staff are very enthusiastic and patient with explanations. I finally chose the Jane blend – rich and nutty. For preparation, their most popular is with ube cream. No extra sugar added, the matcha is very aromatic. Went another time and tried the cherry πŸ’ flavor, but I think ube tastes better. Drawback: Quite expensive – a small cup costs $9. (Must ask for light ice, otherwise it's mostly ice 🧊) Phinista 🌟🌟🌟 Tried their ube tiramisu – a bit too sweet, not as good as the traditional version, and not much ube flavor. Pairs okay with a regular latte. But I do like their ube latte – plenty of purple sweet potato purΓ©e with detectable chunks, not too sweet. (Their coffee is quite strong! The BBQ 🐷 banh mi is delicious.) Phin Cafe 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Originally went for ube matcha, but it was sold out. Then discovered the treasure called matcha snow – I love the coconut πŸ₯₯ shaved ice inside! The coconut flavor is very rich, like the coconut ice in Vietnamese red bean desserts, with a nutty/coconut oil aroma. It balances matcha's bitterness and adds wonderful flavor. Lakon 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This strawberry matcha latte is absolutely stunning! The only 5-star item in this review – truly the best strawberry matcha I've had in Boston so far. Since I was disappointed by their tiramisu latte before, I confirmed multiple times with the staff not to make it too sweet. The barista didn't add any extra sugar – sweetness comes entirely from strawberry purΓ©e, creating a perfect flavor! Heytea Wicked 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Really like it! After all, it's Heytea – feels like there are no bad options. Though I wish Heytea in the US would offer more fruit teas instead of always matcha, I still want to praise this matcha and pomelo juice combination – both matcha's aroma and pomelo's fresh sweetness, more refreshing than 🍡+πŸ₯›. Just feels like "less sugar" is still a bit sweet – will try "light sugar" next time~ More Coffee & Tea 🌟🌟 Ordered the new osmanthus matcha – since it uses osmanthus honey, you must mix it thoroughly before drinking, otherwise you'll get a mouthful of sugar. The osmanthus and matcha pairing is surprisingly harmonious, but the matcha might not be aromatic enough, and there's quite a lot of osmanthus residue. Also regret adding coffee coconut jelly – not really my preference. Overall, not terrible. #BostonMatcha #Ube #BostonBubbleTea
