Since moving from LA to the Bay Area for school and now work, I still miss LA’s generous sunshine and endless good eats every single day 😭 This trip back was longer, so I ate a ton (burp~ 🥹) — some new spots, some longtime favorites. From BBQ, marinated crab, Sichuan, Hunan, Japanese, Korean, to pastries & sweets — I’ve got it all! Compiled into one handy food diary for you 🗒️✨ 🦀 Carb House – Korean crab is delicious, uni rice is interesting! 🥩 JJ Hong Kong Cafe – Black pepper sauce steak tastes like childhood memories 🍣 Sushi Takeda – My first omakase in LA — great experience! 🍰 Brown Bag Cookies – My Ktown dessert home. Best canelés ever, especially fresh out of the oven — a must every visit! 🥐 Out of Ordì – Hard to rate… trendy salt bread spot 💣 🍦 SomiSomi – Yummy taiyaki soft serve 🍖 Ningjie Jinzhou BBQ – Dream about their sweet & sour pork daily ☕ Concerto Coffee – My neighborhood cafe, go there every day lol 🍰 Motto Tea Cafe – Second time ordering their cake — small & pricey, but so pretty! 🐟 Meet U BBQ – Decent grilled fish & skewers 🐂 Kingchang-La – Beef intestine heaven — so rich and savory omg 🥐 Hi Bake – Chengdu-style bakery, had to show support! 😋 🌶️ Rong He Sichuan – Must-visit for this Chengdu kid — had to go twice because of lines! 🌶️ Sichuan spot near my place – Cheap, convenient, and pairs well with boba from Three Meow 😁 🧋 Cha Redefine – Ceylon latte!
