Recollections of Tucson
1. It was around this time last year that I made a trip to Tucson. The winter season there was quite agreeable, without any chilliness. You could either take a one-day or two-day casual tour around the place. ππποΈ There were numerous spots to discover, allowing for a pleasant exploration within that timeframe. ππ£π 2. πSaguaro NP This serves as a notable landmark. The city has split the park into two distinct zones. I paid a visit to both, yet had a preference for the western one. Sadly, the light pollution is rather significant, making it unfit for capturing the starry sky in pictures. ππ΅π Nevertheless, the sight of the cacti in the park is truly captivating, lending a special allure to the entire landscape. Even with the drawback of light conditions for stargazing, its daytime beauty remains a compelling reason to visit. πποΈπ 3. πSan Xavier del Bac Mission As I'm not a follower of the religion, I simply lingered outside for a short while, choosing not to step inside. πβͺπ Still, the exterior architecture is captivating enough, with its unique design that hints at the rich history and cultural significance it holds. πποΈπΈ 4. πTitan missile museum It's truly fascinating. Upon purchasing tickets and entering, there's a guided tour on offer. Through it, you can gain insights into past missile crises and also get a close-up view of the missiles. πππ Such an experience offers a valuable chance to delve into an important historical aspect and observe those powerful weapons at close quarters, thus making the visit highly educational. ππ‘π° 5. πPima air&space museum You'll need approximately half a day to thoroughly explore the museum. For those who have an affinity for planes, it's an attraction not to be overlooked. There's even an aircraft belonging to China Southern Airlines on display. πβοΈπ The extensive collection of aircraft exhibited showcases various periods and models in the history of aviation, turning it into a haven for aviation enthusiasts. πππ 6. πAirplane boneyard Currently, it's closed to the public. It appeared that in the past, there were tours enabling people to enter. You can park your vehicle by the roadside near the north fence and admire the view from that vantage point. ππ«πΌοΈ Even from a distance, seeing the multitude of retired planes imparts a sense of the magnitude of aviation history. πππ 7. There were additional attractions like Biosphere 2 and botanical gardens as well. However, I didn't have much interest in them, so I opted not to visit. ππ³ποΈ Everyone has their own inclinations when it comes to choosing travel destinations, and I simply focused on the ones that piqued my curiosity the most. ππΊοΈπ #Tucson #Arizona #TravelAdventures
