Recommendations for Florence's Hidden Local Gems
While strolling and taking photos around the Florence Cathedral, I stumbled upon this place right next door. With a 4.5 rating on Google, I walked right in. The decor is homely, and the portions are generous. They specialize in seafood, with a wide variety of dishes on the menu, including some special items. For the appetizer, I had mussels in a white sauce, a large portion for €16, and the broth was very fresh!😻😻😻 The seafood pasta was also very satisfying—plenty of seafood and a fresh taste for €16. I highly recommend it! The restaurant actually recommends their lobster pasta, but I preferred the seafood option. The Bolognese pasta was €12, and the T-bone steak was incredibly filling. I ordered it medium-rare, and it was very tender with high-quality beef. I also ordered tiramisu, but I couldn't finish it.😀😀😀 There were no extra service charges, but the service was the best I've experienced in Italy so far. The dishes were served in order, and the restaurant was packed with locals, even with large tables available. Highly recommended!❤️❤️❤️ The value for money was great; I didn't expect to spend so little and still have such a satisfying meal with an average cost of €30 per person. I've seen a few mentions of this place on Xiaohongshu. If you can't get a reservation at the popular restaurant Zaza, this is definitely worth a visit.🤖🤖🤖 📍 Trattoria La Madia Via del Giglio, 14, 50123 Firenze FI #Florence #FlorenceFood #FlorenceTravel #ItalyTravel #HiddenRestaurantGems
