Red Ginger Dimsum & Tapas in Asheville, NC 🥟😬

Red Ginger is one of the few Chinese restaurants in downtown Asheville, and based on mixed reviews, I didn’t have high expectations — but I went anyway because I was really craving dim sum that night. Unfortunately, the experience was… underwhelming, to say the least. Here’s the breakdown: 🦆 Duck Pho I thought it would be roasted duck noodle soup, but it turned out to be chewy duck breast with tough skin. Surprisingly, this was still the best dish of the night. 🫔 Tofu Skin Roll Vegetarian, decent flavor, but a bit too salty. 🦐 Har Gow ($8 for 4 pieces) Tasted exactly like the frozen ones you buy at the supermarket — not worth $2 per piece! 🥟 “Pan-Fried” Soup Dumplings First bite: no filling. Second bite: filling’s gone 😂. Not crispy at all — seemed steamed then lightly pan-fried. Major disappointment. 🍣 Dynamite Roll Ordered this because I was still hungry. Taste was okay, but the roll fell apart as soon as I picked it up with chopsticks. 📌 Overall: The menu tries to cover too much — dim sum, stir-fries, sushi — but doesn’t excel at any. As a Cantonese diner, I can confirm the dim sum is not authentic. I won’t be returning or recommending it. Restaurant: Red Ginger Dimsum & Tapas Price: Around $30 per person Address: 82 Patton Ave Suite 100, Asheville, NC 28801 #Asheville #NCChineseFood #DimSumFail #AshevilleNC #FoodReview
