Red Rock Canyon State Park Near Los Angeles 🏜️

A friend recommended this weekend park to me a while ago, and I finally went now that the weather's cooler. Absolutely stunning! Note: It gets really hot here in summer, so I waited until fall when it's more comfortable. It's about a 2-hour drive from LA. I hiked around noon until 4 PM today—still pretty sunny. I made the silly mistake of not bringing sunscreen 😅 (though I wore a hat), and by evening my face felt a little sunburned. Oops! Coming from the south, the visitor center is on the left side of the highway, and the entrance isn't very obvious. I actually missed it the first time and drove past. Later, I found a spot where a lot of cars were parked on the side of the road. The trail there had a sign saying "4WD only," so I just walked a bit instead of driving. The staff at the visitor center later told me you really do need 4WD there, or you could get stuck. After wandering around, I made a left and drove less than a mile to the visitor center. Super close! Have you been to Red Rock Canyon? What’s your favorite trail or tip for visiting?
