Redondo Beach Izakaya: Tasty But Not Very Unique 🏮✨

📍 Zoku Atmosphere: 100/10 A stylish, artsy izakaya with Japanese-style yakitori—total vibe! The service is authentically Japanese—waitstaff kneel down to take your order, making you feel like royalty. 👑💫 Prices are on the higher side But flavor-wise, the food doesn’t quite match the price tag. Items like rice balls and karaage chicken are tasty, but you could get similar quality elsewhere. We ordered a whole set of yakitori skewers—decent, but nothing standout. That dark, spicy karaage chicken plate was definitely a highlight though 🖤🌶️ The color was bold, and the sauce was well-balanced. And the colorful potato skewers—looked like sausage links but were actually potatoes! Gotta praise how they grilled them to a crisp, with a smoky charcoal flavor and great texture. 🥔🔥 The appetizer cucumber with yuzu sauce was refreshing and lifted the whole meal experience. 🥒💚 Ended with black tea cheesecake—elegantly plated, not too sweet, and truly delicious. 🍰☕ This place seems to aim for an upscale izakaya style, so portions are quite refined. Taste? It’s okay. A friend said it feels more like a spot for non-Asian customers to experience a Japanese izakaya. Still, worth a try if you're curious! Have you been here?
