Regina’s Quan Ngon Vietnamese Restaurant: A Cozy Pho Stop 🍜🇻🇳

After spending a wonderful Lunar New Year at home, it was finally time to head back to Saskatoon 🌟. During these days at home, I’d been enjoying homemade meals nonstop and hadn’t had a chance to dine out, so before leaving, I was craving a warm bowl of Vietnamese pho—perfect for a cozy pre-trip treat 🥰! I decided to try this lovely Vietnamese restaurant, and let me tell you, it was such a great choice! Though the restaurant is located a bit east of downtown, the location has its own charm: it’s away from the hustle and bustle, making it feel quiet and intimate, like a little hidden gem waiting to be discovered 🔍. As soon as I walked in, the atmosphere instantly made me feel at ease—warm lighting, soft background music, and a clean, tidy setup that felt welcoming from the start ✨. The ordering process here is super unique and fun! As I took my seat, the friendly server handed me a small plastic board and a marker 🖍️, then pointed to the QR code on the table. With a quick scan, the menu popped up on my phone, and all I had to do was jot down the dish codes on the plastic board—it’s such a creative way to order, adding a little playful touch to the dining experience 📱! And that plastic board? It was actually clean and well-maintained, making the whole process feel hygienic and convenient—definitely a nice surprise 😊. I went for a combo meal to try a bit of everything, and I’m so glad I did! First up was a plate of fresh salad rolls 🥗, served with a delicious side sauce. The rolls were packed with crisp lettuce, crunchy cucumber sticks, and tender beef, all wrapped in a soft, translucent rice paper. The ingredients were cool and refreshing, while the vermicelli inside was gently warm—you could really taste that everything was made fresh to order 👌. Dipping each bite into the sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce? Chef’s kiss 👩🍳💋 It was the perfect starter, light and flavorful, whetting my appetite for what was to come. Then came the star of the show: the special pho 🍜! As it arrived at the table, steam curled up, carrying the fragrant aroma of herbs and broth—my mouth was watering instantly 😋. Topped with fresh cilantro, scallions, caramelized onions, and a sprinkle of minced ginger, it looked absolutely appetizing. There was also a piece of beef—seared to perfection on the outside while keeping a tender, juicy center, adding a lovely contrast in textures 🥩. The broth itself was a highlight: light, clear, and packed with depth of flavor. You could taste the careful simmering, with hints of star anise and cinnamon that made it feel comforting without being overpowering 🌿. The rice noodles were thin and softly textured, soaking up the broth beautifully with every bite—they were so smooth and easy to slurp, which I absolutely loved! No more struggling with tough noodles here; these were just right 🍚. Hidden in the broth were tender slices of beef shank and melt-in-your-mouth beef tendon—so soft and flavorful, they practically dissolved on my tongue 🤤. I’d also added extra beef tendon for $4.5, and let me say, it was 100% worth it! More of that rich, gelatinous goodness to savor with each spoonful—definitely a must-add if you’re a tendon lover like me 👍. To wash it all down, the combo came with a nice cold Coke 🥤, which was the perfect refreshment alongside the warm pho. By the end of the meal, I was full, happy, and feeling totally satisfied. When the bill came, it was $33, including the Coke, tax, and a 12% tip—such a reasonable price for such a delicious and filling meal, I thought it was a great value 💸✨. If you’re thinking of visiting, I’d say go for whatever makes you happy! The combo is wonderful if you want to try a little bit of everything, but the pho alone is so amazing that ordering it a la carte is just as satisfying—you really can’t go wrong 😊. #ReginaFoodAdventures #VietnamesePhoLove #HiddenGemEats #DeliciousDiningMoments
