Regina Dining: Avenue Restaurant & Bar 🍴✨

Our little one had been obsessed with finding beef tartare, and persistence paid off! 😂 After scouring Google Maps, we finally tracked it down at Avenue Restaurant & Bar—tucked on the corner across from Hudson’s Bay in downtown Regina. So last night, we braved pouring rain and hail to check it out, and what a vibe! The Ambiance 🏛️ Nestled on the ground floor of a charming, historic building, the atmosphere hit me instantly: low-key, vintage, with a modern twist—reminded me of Shanghai’s Bund 3 vibe! 🕰️✨ Soft lighting, classic decor, and that cozy yet polished feel that makes you want to linger. The only tiny downside? The open kitchen lets off a faint whiff of cooking smoke, but honestly, it barely took away from the charm. Oh, and the construction on 11th St and Cornwall St? A bit of an eyesore, but easy to overlook once you step inside. I’d still give the vibe a solid 90/100! The Menu & Bites 🍽️ The food menu is refreshingly streamlined, but the drink list? Long and tempting—every table seemed to have the daily recommended cocktail 🍹, which says a lot! The style leans modern, elevated Western cuisine, but we had a hunch the chef might have Asian roots… turns out, we tasted a hint of that familiar “laoganma” (chili crisp) kick in one dish—such a fun, unexpected twist! 😆 Overall, the dishes were solid—nothing mind-blowing, but no misses either. The star of our order? The beef tartare we’d hunted down! Fresh, well-seasoned, and exactly what the kiddo was craving. But here’s the surprise: the humble-looking dessert stole the show. Simple, but perfectly executed—sweet, creamy, and the perfect end to the meal. The Price 💸 Three of us ordered 3 dishes plus drinks, and the total came out to ~$90 per person. Not cheap, but fair for the ambiance and quality. Final Thoughts 📝 Avenue is all about the vibe—ideal for a cozy, “mood-setting” meal (great for chatting and soaking up the atmosphere). But if you’re purely chasing mind-blowing flavors, we’d say Memories still edges it out for taste. That said, we left happy: the tartare hit the spot, the vibe was lovely, and braving the storm made the whole adventure feel extra worth it. If you’re in Regina and want a spot with character (and killer tartare), add this to your list! 🌟 #ReginaEats #CanadianLife #ReginaDining #RestaurantRecommendations #CozyVibes #FoodieAdventures #DowntownRegina 🍴🌧️✨
