Restaurant Visit | Soby’s in Greenville, SC
This weekend, my family drove down from New Hampshire—where it’s freezing cold ❄️—to check out our house in the Carolinas. We explored Charlotte yesterday, and today we squeezed in a half-day trip to South Carolina for a little getaway! My stepdad asked if we’d ever tried She Crab Soup, a classic Charleston specialty—and we hadn’t! We looked it up, and Soby’s in downtown Greenville had it on their menu. But since we only had time for lunch, we could only order from their Brunch menu (we were low-key worried it wouldn’t be anything special… boy, were we wrong!). We went with the Crab Cake, Shrimp Grits, Salad with Salmon 🥗, and Fried Chicken—and wow, we were completely blown away! My Shrimp Grits and my mom’s Crab Cake were so delicious, they practically made us cry 😭. The grits were rich and creamy, the shrimp were plump, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, and the crab cake was packed with fresh, sweet crab meat (zero filler—thank goodness!). The Fried Chicken had a sticky sweet-savory glaze that was totally addictive, too. We couldn’t resist ordering dessert, and the White Chocolate Banana Cream Pie was insane 🥧! I have a high tolerance for sweetness, but this pie hit the spot—its crust was buttery, crispy, and fragrant, not too sweet, and the banana inside was smooth and creamy. I’m already planning to go back for a second helping! No wonder it’s a top-rated spot among locals—Soby’s is a total must-try in Greenville. Next time, I’m definitely coming for dinner to finally taste that She Crab Soup I missed out on! #SouthCarolina #Greenville #GreenvilleSC #SouthCarolinaTravel #RestaurantRecommendations #BrunchVibes
