Returning to Colorado ποΈβ¨
I lived in Colorado for two years but rarely went into the mountains during the summer. The first summer, I was in Peru for fieldwork π, and the second was during the pandemic π·. After returning to the US, I only visited in winter for skiing. β·οΈ Since our trip to Greece didnβt work out π, and the last time I saw G was in mid-July in San Diego, we decided to visit some places weβd always wanted to explore. Shoutout to AA π β flying from London to Aspen via Dallas was surprisingly smooth. If it werenβt for mileage tickets, I probably wouldβve skipped the trip β too far and too expensive! πΈ We camped the whole time ποΈ, traveling from Aspen β Telluride β Ouray β Silverton. The scenery was straight out of a postcard ποΈ! We took it easy this time β hiked to Ice Lake and Bear Creek Falls π§, and drove over Ophir Pass ππ¨. Funny (or not-so-funny) moments: a bear visited us at midnight π», and a squirrel stole our peaches πΏοΈπ! Going from posh (and expensive) London to wild (and also not cheap) Colorado felt like switching between two extremes π. My summer break ended with a mad dash to catch my return flight βοΈ. Back in Boston now, work is crazy busy π§ π₯ β my brain is about to explode. Not much to report, except that the Van Gogh exhibit at the MFA was pretty cool πΌοΈ, andβ¦ my car got hit π Anyway, Greece β see you next summer! π¬π·βοΈ #Colorado #FallVibes #USATravel #VisitColorado #AutumnAdventures
