Returning to Colorado πŸ”οΈβœ¨

I lived in Colorado for two years but rarely went into the mountains during the summer. The first summer, I was in Peru for fieldwork 🌍, and the second was during the pandemic 😷. After returning to the US, I only visited in winter for skiing. ⛷️ Since our trip to Greece didn’t work out πŸ˜”, and the last time I saw G was in mid-July in San Diego, we decided to visit some places we’d always wanted to explore. Shoutout to AA πŸ™ β€” flying from London to Aspen via Dallas was surprisingly smooth. If it weren’t for mileage tickets, I probably would’ve skipped the trip β€” too far and too expensive! πŸ’Έ We camped the whole time πŸ•οΈ, traveling from Aspen β†’ Telluride β†’ Ouray β†’ Silverton. The scenery was straight out of a postcard 🏞️! We took it easy this time β€” hiked to Ice Lake and Bear Creek Falls πŸ’§, and drove over Ophir Pass πŸš—πŸ’¨. Funny (or not-so-funny) moments: a bear visited us at midnight 🐻, and a squirrel stole our peaches πŸΏοΈπŸ‘! Going from posh (and expensive) London to wild (and also not cheap) Colorado felt like switching between two extremes πŸ˜‚. My summer break ended with a mad dash to catch my return flight ✈️. Back in Boston now, work is crazy busy 🧠πŸ’₯ β€” my brain is about to explode. Not much to report, except that the Van Gogh exhibit at the MFA was pretty cool πŸ–ΌοΈ, and… my car got hit πŸ˜‘ Anyway, Greece β€” see you next summer! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·β˜€οΈ #Colorado #FallVibes #USATravel #VisitColorado #AutumnAdventures
