Review|Calabra – Rooftop Restaurant in LA with Great Vibes 🌿🌇
— Decor: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Located on the top floor of the Santa Monica Proper Hotel, this spot features lush greenery, curved lines, wooden furniture, and sculptural design—soft yet full of depth. The vibe is fantastic, perfect for catching up with friends! But the food? Just okay. 🥣 Hummus Kawarma (Chickpea dip with braised lamb shoulder) ✅ Delicious! Rich, Northwest-inspired flavors. The lamb shoulder is tender and falls apart easily, served with pine nuts and Za’atar flatbread. 🥣 Grilled Cauliflower ✅ Tasty! Well-seasoned and nicely charred, though a bit salty in some spots. 🥣 Crispy Latke (Potato pancake with smoked salmon) ❌ The potato cake was soft rather than crispy, and we skipped the salmon. 🥣 Greek Fries ❌ Not good—even McDonald’s fries are better. These were mealy, not crispy, and way too salty. Saltier than the Mediterranean Sea! 🧂🌊 🍹 Smoothie - Pacific Blue ✅ Refreshing! Made with blue spirulina, coconut, dates, pineapple, and blueberries. 🍹 Smoothie - Strawberry Glow ✅ Also great! Includes plant-based collagen powder, strawberries, coconut, and dates. Overall, I’d recommend it—especially for the atmosphere. The food is decent compared to other aesthetically similar spots. 💬 What’s your favorite rooftop spot in LA?
