Rhode Island Getaway from Boston (Part 2) š
Pick a sunny, breezy day and explore Rhode Islandāa perfect weekend retreat near Boston! š Detailed Guide (Includes transportation from Providence to Newport + Newport accommodation) š Transportation Providence ā Newport š¹ Rideshare: After a satisfying meal, we took an Uber to avoid dragging our luggage to the bus stop. The trip cost nearly $70, but splitting it among friends made it affordable. š¹ Bus #60 (final stop: Newport): The ride takes about an hour. Although the route shows over 100 stops, it moves quickly since the bus doesnāt stop at every station. š« Tickets: Download the Ripta Wave app to purchase a day pass, or pay with cash (easier!). You can bring luggage, but thereās no dedicated storageākeep it next to your seat or in the aisle. I only had $10 cash, but the driver kindly let me board for free (New England hospitality at its best! š). ā Getting Around Newport š¹ Rideshare or Bus #67 š: Bus #67 is hop-on/hop-off (though Iāve heard itās no longer freeāscan to pay). Since we were in a group, we mostly used rideshares. The island is small, so trips cost under $10. ā Newport ā Providence š¹ Bus #60 š: Check the schedule in advance on Google Maps (select āMore tripsā for Bus #60). Ride it to the final stopāitās just a short walk to Providence Station. šØ Accommodation š Bouchard Restaurant & Inn We booked this hotel on Booking.com for its proximity to downtown and attractions. Since it was off-peak season, we got a free upgrade to a suite! The place felt more like a cozy B&B than a hotel. š” š¹ Drinks in the fridge were complimentary, and breakfast (yogurt, bread) was delivered to our door at 8:30 AM. After checkout, we could store our luggage hassle-free. āāāāā Highly recommend! #BostonLife #Newport #BostonDayTrip #RhodeIsland #Providence #CliffWalk #TheBreakers #EastCoastTravel #BostonTravel
