Richmond, VA Day Trip πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβœ¨

While visiting Washington DC, I took a day to explore Richmond β€” definitely left me wanting more! Would recommend staying overnight if you can. πŸ™οΈ πŸ–ΌοΈ Top Recommendation: Virginia Museum of Fine Arts πŸ›οΈπŸŽ¨ FREE entry! Their Art Nouveau & Art Deco collection is truly special β€” one of the few of its kind in the US. Also stunning: French and Russian jewelry exhibitions πŸ’Žβœ¨ β€” gorgeous and opulent! Allow 4-5 hours to fully enjoy this museum. πŸ“œ Nearby: The American History Museum currently has a special exhibit on Julia Child πŸ‘©πŸ³ β€” sadly I missed it this time! Also close by: Carytown πŸ›οΈ β€” a fun shopping street I passed by (the houses around there are lovely!). 🌊 River Walk: Pretty casual β€” not much going on commercially, but nice for a relaxed stroll. You’ll also find the American Civil War Museum nearby if you’re into history. πŸ“– Literural Stop: The Edgar Allan Poe Museum πŸ–‹οΈπŸšοΈ is east of downtown β€” small but worth a quick visit. πŸ— Food Highlight: Mama J’s Kitchen πŸ—πŸ‹ Their fried chicken is super crispy and juicy! Portions are a bit small though β€” order extra. Don’t miss their lemonade β€” so refreshing! #Richmond #Virginia #TravelUSA #DCDayTrip #Museums #ArtLover #HistoricRichmond #FoodieFind #SouthernEats
