Rio de Janeiro, Brazil🌈
From the artistic charm of the Selarón Stairs, to the colorful solemnity of Rio Cathedral, to the historical vicissitudes of the Arcos da Lapa, and the technological innovation of the Museu do Amanhã, each attraction exudes Rio's unique charm✨. Escadaria Selarón🌈, created by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón who lived in Brazil starting from the 1990s. Each step is hand-inlaid with ceramic tiles and fragments from around the world, forming colorful patterns and decorations🎨. About 300 of them are hand-painted by Selarón, depicting a pregnant African woman. Selarón was reluctant to discuss this, only saying it was "a personal issue from my past"🤫. Arcos da Lapa🏛️, or Aqueduto da Carioca, was built during the 18th-century Portuguese colonial period. The aqueduct spans 270 meters, consisting of two layers of huge arches with a total of 42 arches. Its architectural style is influenced by ancient Rome, with unique historical and cultural significance. Originally built to support a waterway, the arches were later converted into a road bridge. They are located just between the stairs and the cathedral📍. Catedral do Rio de Janeiro⛪, also known as the Cathedral of St. Sebastian, is one of the most representative religious buildings in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built from 1964 to 1979 in a modern style, the cathedral has a conical structure similar to an inverted pyramid, composed of four huge stained glass windows in a cross shape. Sunlight filters through the stained glass, casting colorful light and shadows on the chairs🌈. Museu do Amanhã🔮, a science and technology museum themed on the future and sustainable development, opened in 2015 with a unique appearance. The museum is dedicated to exploring the challenges and solutions of humanity's future, showcasing the latest achievements and ideas in fields such as science, technology, sustainable development, and innovation. Through exhibitions and interactions, it encourages visitors to think about the problems facing today's society and explore possible solutions. Photos of the Chinese People's Liberation Army were also seen in the exhibition📸. Admission ends at 5 pm, tickets cost 30 reais, and it is closed on Mondays⏰. The Mosteiro de São Bento in Rio de Janeiro is on a nearby hill, just a ten-minute walk away🗿. #Brazil #BrazilTravel #SouthAmerica #SouthAmericaTravel #RioDeJaneiro#RioCathedral #CulturalExploration #Travel #Art #CheckIn #Church #Museum
