Road Trip Through the American Midwest (Moab β Salt Lake City) ππ¨
Day 4 was a transition day β we drove from the small town of Moab near Arches National Park all the way to Salt Lake City. Slowly, we made our way from Arizona into Utah. A slight regret: we didnβt realize Arches required reservations half a day in advance π β¦ so we had to skip it to stay on schedule. We pictured the beauty in our minds instead ποΈβ¨. Salt Lake City, the third-largest city in the region, sits at the northern end of a valley famous for its Great Salt Lake. I used to think it was just another industrial city, but I was pleasantly surprised! Itβs not as bustling as NYC or SF, but it has its own charm β surrounded by mountains and lakes, with a grand City Hall and the famous Mormon Temple. The houses built along the slopes are well-kept and beautiful β the standalone villas look absolutely cozy and inviting π‘β°οΈ. We walked through the University of Utah β the campus is so green and peaceful! We even stopped to watch two college students playing tennis πΎβΊοΈβ¦ simple and beautiful moments. We caught the sunset at the Great Salt Lake and captured a quiet, almost Japanese-style photo of my friendβs silhouette against the fading light. So serene π πΈ. We also visited the worldβs first KFC! I always thought Colonel Sanders started in Kentucky, but turns out it was right here in Salt Lake City ππ². We strolled through a local outlet mall β not too many brands and pretty quiet, but the deals were great! That night we stayed in a mountain-view room overlooking the whole city. I really wish we had more time to explore Salt Lake City. On our way back from Yellowstone, we saw a huge, complete rainbow from the highway β like a reward from nature ππ€©! It was magical, almost like driving through the rainbow. It only lasted two minutes, but itβs a memory Iβll keep for a long time. #USRoadTrip #SaltLakeCity #UniversityOfUtah #FirstKFC #UtahTravel #NatureVibes
