Romance Across Time: Fukuoka Castle Ruins and Maizuru Park 🌊

In the heart of Fukuoka City, Japan, lies a magical place—the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. 🌊 It is like an old man with a long history, quietly telling stories of glory and legend from 400 years ago. 🌟 Now, it has been transformed into Maizuru Park, a perfect place for people to explore history and embrace nature. 🌿 In 1601, Kuroda Nagamasa, a prominent retainer of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, personally oversaw the construction of this magnificent castle. It served as the residence of the Kuroda clan of Fukuoka Domain. 🌊 Because its outline resembled a white crane about to take flight, it was named “Maizuru Castle,” which is also the origin of the name Maizuru Park. 🦢 Covering an area of about 470,000 square meters, Fukuoka Castle once had 47 watchtowers and multiple moats. 🌊 It was one of the largest fortresses in the Kyushu region. Just imagining its grandeur is breathtaking. 🌄 However, the castle dismantling order in 1871 was like a ruthless storm. Most of the buildings were demolished in the storm, leaving only stone walls, gates, and other ruins to stubbornly guard the past glory. 🌋 #Fukuoka
