Sacramento & Locke – A Scorching But Fascinating Trip! 🌞🏛️

Feels like Sacramento ("Three Buns" 🥟🥟🥟) is hotter than Africa these days! Grabbed my Tanzania-grade sunscreen and set off before the 40°C heatwave hit. Here’s how it went: 📍 Sacramento Highlights (and Lowlights) 1️⃣ California State Capitol Park 🏛️ Half under construction, museum closed on weekends 😩. Not much to see, but the rose garden is pretty! 🌹 2️⃣ Stanford Mansion 🏡 Former home of Stanford University’s founder. Gorgeous gardens (saw wedding photoshoots! 💍), but no photos allowed inside. Free hourly tours only! 3️⃣ Old Sacramento State Historic Park 🤠 Everyone’s here for the Railroad Museum 🚂 (cool vintage trains, kinda like Jersey City’s Liberty Park). Wild West vibes + Gold Rush charm, but $3/hr parking cut my visit short. 4️⃣ Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park ⛏️ Where the California Gold Rush began! Small but packed with history. Wish there were staff to explain the exhibits, though. 👻 Locke Historic District – America’s Last Chinese Village Built in 1915, this semi-abandoned town is a time capsule of early 20th-century Chinese-American life. Only 1-2 streets to explore, but super intriguing! Highlights: Dai Loy Museum 🎴 – Old gambling tables & tools (upstairs is off-limits 👀). Other museums (boarding house, Chinese school) only open Fri-Sun. Eerie vibe walking around… locals say it’s haunted 👻. (Google the wild history!) Verdict: Sacramento’s history-heavy but HOT 🔥, while Locke is a spooky-cool detour. Worth it if you love offbeat adventures! #Sacramento #CaliforniaTravel #GoldRushHistory #HauntedPlaces #HiddenGems #AsianAmericanHistory 🚂🏮
